My partner splits every bill 50/50 even though he earns triple my salary

We've been together three years. He earns three times what I do. Every bill, holiday and takeaway is split exactly in half, including the expensive holidays he picks. When I suggested proportional splitting he said that's "basically asking him to pay for me".
